On March 8, 2023, Dr. Matías García-Constantino, a Computer Science lecturer from the School of Computing at Ulster University in the United Kingdom, was invited as a guest speaker at the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Laboratory (AiiLAB) in the College of Computing at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus. During the lecture, he discussed his involvement in several projects related to Connected Health as part of the Northern Ireland Connected Health Innovation Centre (NI-CHIC) project in collaboration with international partners.
Among the projects he discussed was the development of Worktivity, a mobile app aimed at reducing sedentary behaviour and promoting physical activity in office environments, the creation of iMPAKT, a mobile app and web portal designed to help nurses record their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), the detection of abnormal behaviour in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) through data collection and analysis, analysis of social isolation and interactions through data analysis, and the use of smart microphones.
