The competition aimed to promote and enhance knowledge in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision for agricultural applications, particularly among Smart Farmers and Young Smart Farmers. These technologies play a vital role in modern agriculture by enabling object detection and classification, data-driven decision-making, and plant disease prediction. Moreover, AI can significantly improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and increase farmers’ income—especially in industrial-scale agriculture.
The Durian Hackathon 2025 featured a combination of theoretical training, hands-on workshops, and a competitive hackathon session. Participants had the opportunity to apply AI technologies in real-world scenarios under the guidance of experts. The event attracted 86 participants from across the country, forming 21 teams consisting of individuals interested in AI and its agricultural applications.
This initiative marks a significant step toward positioning AI as a key driver in transforming Thailand’s agricultural sector. It also reinforces efforts to empower farmers with digital capabilities, enhance competitiveness, and promote the effective integration of AI into agricultural management.
