The College of Computing, Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus (CoC-PSU), in collaboration with the Big Data Institute (BDI), organized a basic-level workshop on Data Science and Data Engineering from January 24–26, 2025. The event was held at Computer Laboratory 6702, 7th Floor, Building 6, PSU Phuket Campus, with over 40 participants from the southern region, including entrepreneurs and members of the public.
The workshop aimed to enhance foundational knowledge in Data Science and Data Engineering, equipping participants with essential skills for data-driven work and business applications in the digital era.
The program featured both lectures and hands-on sessions covering two key topics:
- “Data Analysis and Visualization” by Asst.Prof.Kullawat Chaowanawatee
- “AI and Machine Learning” by Asst.Prof.Dr.Thitinan Kliangsuwan
In addition to the on-site training, the College of Computing has previously conducted two online sessions to expand access nationwide:
- 1st session (November 7–10, 2024): 145 participants
- 2nd session (December 19–22, 2024): 188 participants
This initiative reflects CoC-PSU’s commitment to promoting data literacy and strengthening foundational digital skills among the public and business sector. By empowering participants to effectively utilize data, the program contributes to improved decision-making, increased competitiveness, and sustainable growth in the digital economy.
The College of Computing continues to position itself as a learning hub for Data Science and digital technologies, supporting workforce development aligned with future industry demands.
